Why we are raising money?

Soul Science Lab (SSL) is approaching its ten year anniversary. We’ve been blessed to have a dynamic decade of creative services impacting countless people around the world through music, multimedia and arts education. We’re planning our next decade with intention and invite you to be a part of our future and legacy.
We’re actively fundraising to achieve specific short term and long term goals that will not only move us toward sustainability, but will also give SSL the ability to invest in the next generation of creatives. In the short term, we are raising money for two specific things: Our exciting new project, The Renaissance Mixtape and the Association of Performing Artist Professionals Conference.

what is the money for?

The Renaissance Mixtape (RMT) is a mixed reality musical that explores the impact of the Harlem Renaissance 100 years later and compels the audience to imagine the impact of their ideas and actions 100 years in the future. The piece is an odyssey of music, history, time travel and a quest to become ancestors' wildest dreams. The project will exist as a live performance, digital film content and virtual reality content. RMT has been in progress since 2020 and needs financial support to complete the most important tech and visual elements including: 3D Motion Graphics, extended reality development and virtual reality development. This project needs additional funding to to fully execute the vision. We are exploring partnerships with other organizations and asking our community for support. We look forward to premiering it at the Apollo in October of 2023.

Association of Performing Artist Professionals (APAP) conference is an annual conference every January in NYC that gathers booking agents, performing arts presenters, managers and artists. One of the major goals of the conference is to showcase artists to talent buyers across the globe. This could secure years of work for artists that are prepared for the opportunity. This is a perfect opportunity to spread our projects like Make A Joyful Noize Project across the world. A presence at APAP could fundamentally change our lives and careers. We have plans to attend the conference, however we need financial assistance to cover membership, registration, showcasing, booth and personnel fees.
